Sihanoukville: 56YO French Toni Samaha dies after visiting a private hospital.

On August 21 2016 at 10AM police experts received the information that in Boeung Reang village, Samakki commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province a foreigner died.

The victim has been identified as Samaha Toni, male, French national, DOB 10/03/1960, visa EI00681632 expiring on October 4 2016.

The victim died in his car after he left Ly Kumdy Clinic (លិ គឹមឌី) which is located in Vealrenh commune (វាលរេញ), Prey Nob district on August 21 2016 at around 7.40AM.

Since 2015 and from time to time (បានចេញ-ចូល) the victim lived with his Khmer wife (not officially married) in Boeung Reang village, Samakki commune, Prey Nob district.

His corpse has been deposited at home awaiting an examintaion and biopsy by the doctors and the technical police and awaiting a decision of the embassy.

The corpse of an Australian woman has been found floating in a small river/creek in Mak Prang commune (ម៉ាក់ប្រាង្គ), Tuk Chhou district (ទឹកឈូ).

On August 21 2016 at 10AM a foreign woman has been found by the owner of Aakhadia(r) restaurant (អាខាដៀរ; possibly Arcadia); the body was floating in the Mak Prang river in Snom 7 village, Mak Prang commune, Tuk Chhou district, Kampot province.

According to the district police:
The victim has been identified as Breny/Bolreni Christy Anny (ប្រ្លែនីីគ្រីស្ទីអាន់នី), female, DOB 03.5.1992, Australian.

The victim checked-in in the Akhadiar guesthouse where her corpse has been found on August 15 2016.

According to the Provincial Police on August 21 2016 at 2.48PM:
The victim drowned. Provincial police experts performed a biopsy and noticed that the victim drowned in the early evening of August 20 2016 but nobody realized it until the corpse was found by the owner of the restaurant and informed the police.

Sihanoukville

On August 19 2016 at 6.30AM at Mlop Chrey beach (ឆ្នេរម្លប់ជ្រៃ) which is situated in Group 24, Village 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville, a dead foreigner has been found.
The victim has been identified as SHARMA NAVEEN, male, Indian national, DOB 25/06/1980, tourist. (The copy of the pasport didn’t contain a visa.)
The victim stayed at Backpacker Veaven guesthouse (possibly Backpacker Heaven) which is located in Group 25, Village 3, Sangkat 3, since August 10 2016.
A biopsy by a doctor and the technical police revealed that the victim died of drowning.
The victim’s body has been deposited in the the Provincial Referral Hospital awaiting a decision from the embassy.

Sihanoukville: 55YO German Mario Scafati dies in the Provincial Referral Hospital.

On August 15 at 2PM the authorities received the information that a foreigner died at the Provincial Referral Hospital.
The victim was identified as Scafati Mario, male, Dutch national (must be German), DOB 13/07/1961, visa EI00917615 valid till 22/02/2017 (must be 02/02/2017).
According to the first investigations the victim entered the hospital on August 14 2016 at 2.50PM and died on the same day at 8.10PM. (because he had a virus in his blood/many micro-organisms)
His corps has been deposited at the hospital awaiting a decision from the embassy.

Phnom Penh: 36YO French Nicolas Plessis dies of a drug-induced heart failure.

Phnom Penh:
On August 15 2016 at noon time a French man died of a heart attack because of the excessive (overdose) use of morphines and methamphetamines.
The incident happend at rental house No.XXX, 3rd floor, corner of Street 144 and Sisowath Quay, Group 51, Village 5, sangkat Phsar Kandal 1, khan Daun Penh.

Authorities said that the victim was identified as PLESSIS NICOLAS LOUIS ALEXIS, male, DOB 14/02/1980, French national, tourist, staying at the rental house where the incident happend.

I didn’t translate the paragraph in which the reporter describes the physical state of the corpse but there were morphines and methamphetamines found in the victim’s urine.

News sources present at the place of the incident said that on August 12 2016 at 2.30PM the victim and 2 more friends, identified as Saillard Phillipaul (probably Saillard Philippe Paul) and Nguyen Fabien Khoaviel Daniel, rented to house of the incident to stay, each sleeping in his own room. The victim slept on the 3rd floor; his 2 friends on the 4th floor.
On August 14 2016 they went out together to eat something. At 9PM they returned home. Saillard Phillipaul and the victim had a drink together and afterwards went to their rooms to sleep.
After that the victim went outside again making use of a tuk-tuk. It’s not clear at what time he arrived back home.
On August 15 2016 at 8AM Nguyen Fabien Khoaviel Daniel went to the room of the victim and suddenly noticed that he was lying dead on his bed.
He informed the local authorities.
A team of doctors and expert authorities concluded that the victim really died of an overdose (opiates and methamphetamines) causing a heart failure.
The corpse has been deposited at Wat Meanchey pagoda.

Sihanoukville: 49YO Russian Nikolaev Kirill drowns in sea at Otres Beach.

Another foreigner drowned in sea while swimming at Otres Beach.
The incident happend around 1.30PM in the afternoon of August 14 2016.
The victim was identified as Russian national KIRILL NIKOLAEV, born on 18/08/1967 (must be 18/12/1967). He was living in his own house in Borey Sok San which is located in Group 16, Village 5, sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.

According to his Khmer girlfriend, identified as Mel Sarea (មុិល សារា), the victim left his house to eat lunch at Srey Pov restaurant which is located in Group 8, Village 6, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.
After eating lunch at around 1PM, the victim went for a swim until 1.26PM when he was found dead.

Kandal: 58YO Korean national Chunseaong Jo murdered.

A Chinese national (must be Korean national) was executed by an unknown person around 5.30PM at Koh Khnor village, Prek Roka commune, Kandal Steung district, Kandal Province.

The victim is still unidentified; it’s suspected that he’s a foreigner around 40YO.

According to the police:
Witnesses at the place of the incident explained that around 4.30PM a group of 3 persons had a discussion at the Sala Somnak roundabout in Koh Khnor village. Afterwards around 5.30PM there was a shooting. After the shooting an orange Kia Vista escaped in the direction of the East.

The car was ‘caught’ by the police in Bati district.

It’s not clear if one or more suspects were caught too.

Koh Rong: 29YO Turkish Karaboga Suleyla drowns while swimming in the sea.

On August 10 2016 at 3.20PM a foreigner drowned in the sea at the beach in the neighborhood of the construction yard of a 5-star hotel which is located in Sok San village, sangkat Koh Rong, Sihanoukville.

The victim was identified as the 30YO female Turkish tourist Karaboga Sulega (must be Karaboga Suleyla) staying at a guesthouse in Koh Tooch village, sangkat Koh Rong. She went for a swim together with (a) friend(s).
Her corps has been sent to the Provincial Referral Hospital awaiting a decision from (not mentioned)

Kampot: 72YO British David Ernest Frearson dies along the road during a coffee break.

The victim died in the morning of August 10 2016 at 9AM in front of a Khmer restaurant after he left Capitol Bus for a coffee break to Kampot. He started smoking a cigarette; then he fell on the floor. He died on the scene of the incident before being taken to the hospital.

Phnom Penh: 52YO New-Zealander Andrea Mary Main found dead in Harmony Hotel.

In the morning of August 5 2016 at 8AM the police examined the corps of a 53YO female New-Zealander who died in room number 603 on the 6th floor of Harmony Hotel which is located number 25, Street 148, sangkat Phsar Kandal 1, khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.

The cause of death is not known yet; the police is currently waiting for the results of the Technical Department.
The outcome of the investigation showed that the victim died of a heart attack (caused by the use of morphine).
The corps has been sent to the morgue of Russian Hospital.

DOB: 3/10/1963, Epsom, NZ.
The Khmer article came with a picture of a positive OPI-test (Morphine).
