Corpse of Belgian man found in hotel room; cause of death unknown.

The corpse has been found on September 16 2016 around midnight. The victim was found lying on a bed, his face upwards, in a room of Divers Hotel which is located at ‘Meteorology’ (ឧតុនិយម), Group 25, Village 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.

The victim was wearing a blue shirt with a checkerboard pattern and grey shorts.

The police identified the victim as HAZARD FREDERIC POL C., male, Belgian national, 58YO, businessman, holder of an EI-visa valid till 04/10/2016.

The police said that a biopsy performed by the technical-scientific police and a doctor revealed that the victim possibly died of a heart attack.
After the examinations the victim’s corpse was sent to Russian Hospital in Phnom Penh by the family and embassy in order to organize the return of the victim’s corpse to his country of origin.

According to the police:
A foreigner died in a rental room; a bad smell alarmed the landlord/landlady.
The incident happend on September 12 2016 at 1PM at Ta Phul village, sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city.
After a physical examination of the victim’s corpse the police didn’t find any traces of murder/homicide.
They concluded that the victim maybe left the bathroom, felt dizzy and fell down.(exhaustion) There were no witnesses.
The victim maybe died 3 to 4 days ago because the corpse was already swollen up and smelling bad.
The immigration police identified the victim as HUXLEY KENNETH ROBERT, male, 58YO, Canadian national, jobless.
The police and a doctor decided to take and lay out the victim’s corpse at the Provincial Referral Hospital awaiting a decision from the embassy.

Sihanoukville: 72YO US-national William Joseph Moore died at the Provincial Hospital.

On September 11 2016 at 8.43AM police experts received the news that at the Provincial Referral Hospital, which is located in Group2, Village 4, sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, a foreigner died.
The victim has been identified as:
MOORE William Joseph, male, US national, born on April 16 1944, visa EI 01013257 valid till July 24 2017.
Early reports say that the foreigner entered the hospital on September 9 2016 at 8.10PM to receive treatment.
In the morning of September 11 2016 the hospital contacted the Immigration Office to tell them that the foreigner died.
Currently police experts are looking for the place where the victim had been living.
The victim’s body has been laid out in the hospital awaiting a check by an expert doctor and the technical-scientific police to perform a biopsy.
Police experts informed the embassy and are waiting for a decision.

Phnom Penh: 79YO Korean Kim Jungboon died at her home.

(The incident happend) on September 9 2016 at 22.13PM in House No.XX, Borey So Chhiv (បុរីសូឈីវ), concreta road P3, Group 14, North Kantok village, sangkat Kantok, Por Sen Chey.
The victim (has been identified as) KIM JUNGBOON, female, born on July 2 1937, working at home, living at the place of the incident.
She suffered wounds/sores/ulcers on one buttock and gangrene on the calf of her right leg.
According to the victim’s son:
In the past his mother suffered diabetes, a stroke, hypertension and a severe kidney inflammation. She took permanently took medicines.
On September 9 2016 she didn’t feel well and was sent to Calmette.
On her arrival the doctor, after examining her, said that he couldn’t treat her due to her severe illness (ដោយជំងឺធ្ងន់ធ្ងររយះពេលចុង) so she returned home and died of exhaustion on September 9 2016 at 22.13PM.

Siem Reap: 36YO Chinese Tan Shuilong dies at Royal Empire Hotel.

On September 2 at 9.30PM at Royal Empire Hotel which is located along NR6, Krous village, sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city/province a foreign national fell face down in the swimming pool and died.

According to the Immigration Police:
The victim was identified as TAN SHUILONG, male, 36YO, Chinese national, visa No EF00431218, entered Cambodia through PPIA on August 31 2016 and arrived in Siem Reap on September 2 2016 via a tour company.
He stayed in Royal Empire Hotel room NoXXX and went for a swim. He sat on the border of the swimming pool and fell face down into the water.
They pulled the victim out of the water and called an ambulance but the victim died already.
According to Techical-Scietific Police, a coroner and doctors from the Royal (Angkor International Hospital) the victim died of an increased blood pressure which caused a broken blood vessel in the brain; a scan showed a blood clot in the brain of the victim.
The corpse has been laid out in the Royal Angkor International Hospital awaiting the handing over to the embassy.

DOB 04/05/1980.

On September 2 2016 at 5.30AM in a room from the palm oil company Mong Reththy Group located in Onlong Kropeu village, Cheung Koo village, Prey Nob district, a Thai national died for some unknown reasons.

The victim was identified as FAKVILAI KOVIT, male, 41YO, visa No.EI00883895 valid till 21.12.2016, heavy machinery foreman.

An examination by the Technical Scientific Police and a group of doctors from the communal health center indicated that the victim died of a heart attack.
The corpse has been laid out on the place of the incident awaiting a decision from the family.

Indonesian man dies of a heart attack in a hospital in Bavet.

Svay Rieng

On September 1 2016 at 5.30PM a person died in Bavet Hospital which is located opposite Hun Sen Bavet High School in Bavet Leu village, sangkat Bavet, Bavet city, Svay Rieng province.

The victim has been identified as Thommy Gaennidi (ថូមមី ហ្គែននីឌី), male, 32YO, Indonesian national, casino employee at Gwin Online located in Bavet Kandal village, sangkat Bavet, Bavet city, Svay Rieng province.

After performing a biopsy/examination it was concluded that the victim died of a heart attack.

The victim’s corpse has been handed over to relatives and laid out at Wat Bavet pagoda awaiting the family.

Siem Reap: 33YO South Korean Luh Chih Chieh found dead in his rental room; overdose suspected.

Bad smell leaves the house; reported to the police.

Siem Reap

A Taiwanese man died in a rental room which led to a bad smell. This was reported to the police. They examined the place of the incident, located in Krous village, sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city/province, in the afternoon of August 31 2016.
The victim was identified as 33YO Taiwanese man LU CHIH CHIEF (Must be Luh Chih Chieh) living at the scene of the incident.

A resident reported to the police that a man died and a bad small was leaving from a room close to the reporter’s room. The police intervened and noticed a dead foreigner in rental room C34 in Borey Ak Khaet.

According to an examination and according to the first conclusions the victim maybe used too much drugs or maybe fainted because on the incident scene 2 bags with white powder were found; one with a rough-textured powder and one with a fine-textured powder. Also several tools (paraphernalia) were found.

No scars were found on the victim’s body which considerably rules out murder.
The victim died 2 to 3 days before he was found.

Battambang: 71YO Australian Coless Geoffrey Malcolm found dead in Khemara 1 Hotel.

An Australian national died of a heart attack in a hotel.

Battambang

On August 30 2016 at 2PM a foreigner died at Khemara Battambang 1 Hotel which is located in village, sangkat Chomkar Chomrong, Battambang city, Battambang province.

According to the Municipal Police:
The victim was identified as 71YO Australian COLESS GEOFFREY MALCOLM. He died on the floor of Room No241 in Khemara Battambang 1 Hotel.

According to a male co-traveller identified as 34YO Seng Hong:
The victim worked for the agricultural department of iDE (helping to promote/advertise communities in Cambodia) in Siem Reap province. He travelled to Battambang on August 29 2016 to attend a seminar at/with the University of Battambang.
On August 30 2016 the victim had lunch; afterwards he relaxed till 1PM. His co-traveller went to call him but didn’t hear a reply so he called the hotel manager to open the door. They entered (the victim’s room) and found the victim lying dead on the floor.

After the participation of the Royal Prosecutor and after a doctor performed an examination and biopsy the police concluded that the victim died of a ‘personal’ disease/illness. (heart attack)

Sihanoukville: 39YO Korean father Lee Min Seock and his 4YO son Lee Seungjae drown off Otres 2 beach.

The Governor of Preah Sihanouk province told PNN that 2 more foreigners drowned at Sihanoukville’s beaches. The incident happend at Otres Beach in Sangkat 4 on August 26 2016 at 10AM after both victims went for a swim in big waves.
Immediately, under the lead of the governor, related officials and a doctor went to the place of the incident in an attempt to rescue the victims but at no success because the victim’s condition was too critical.
The police explained that the victims, a father and his son, have the Korean nationality.
1. Lee Min Seock, male, DOB 22/11/1976.
2. Lee Seung Jea, male, DOB 28/08/2012.
Once more, the Governor asked the residents and tourists not to swim during periods of strong winds and big waves.
