After investigating the case the police concluded that the suspect strangled the victim to death with a nylon rope.
At 2.40PM on the same day the police tracked down a 17-year-old suspect; a drop-out living together with his parents at the same village where the incident happened.
The suspect has been temporarily detained in the police station so as to fully complete the case file in accordance with the legislative procedure.

Police identified the victim as Ey Sokha, a 26-year-old factory worker living in Koh Norea village, Niroth commune, Chbar Ampov district, Phnom Penh together with her parents.
According to the victim's father:
On August 2 2017 around 9AM the victim's mother instructed the victim to go exchange 40USD into Khmer currency to repair a broken 'machine'. The victim left on a black Honda Dream 2016-series (Phnom Penh 1FT-1723).
Around 7PM the father of the victim tried to call his daughter but it was the police who picked up her phone and told him that his daughter had been found strangled to death in a guesthouse.
According to the guest house's owner:
On August 2 2017 around 1PM a man rented a room. Not much later the victim arrived on her motorbike.
Later that afternoon the man, holding the key of the victim's motorbike, said that he was leaving to buy something to eat. The owner of the guest house thought that the man and woman knew each other well, didn't ask too many questions and allowed him to leave.
But the man didn't return.
Later that day housekeeping passed the room, noticed that it (the door?) was open/unlocked and found the victim dead.
According to the local authorities:
The suspect (the article says 'boyfriend' of the victim but it's not clear if they mean fiancé) persuaded the victim to have sex with each other before killing the woman and stealing her motorbike and money.
Police found 2 used condoms in the room.
The woman was set to marry in December 2017.

On August 3 2017 around noon time the Phnom Penh Police took the man into custody following a court warrant for his (alleged) involvement in a drug case (production) in Kampong Speu's Kampong Sruoch district in 2012.

On August 2 2017 police identified the victim as 16-year-old Heng Kim Huoy from Ksach Kandal district's Vihear Suor commune which is in Kandal province.
The first conclusions are that the victim was killed somewhere else and afterwards dumped at aforementioned location.
Police believe robbery, murder but they are still investigating the case.
Police didn't identify the killer(s) yet.

The victim was dragged from the ocean after asking for help; by-standers applied CPR but he unfortunately died on his way to the hospital.
Police identified the victim as Chhin Chin Hor (?), a 36-year-old Chinese man temporarily living in Village 2, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.
The man's body is being held at the Provincial Referral Hospital to await the handing over to his siblings.
