Phnom Penh: 47YO Vietnamese Sokh Ran dies at her house of a heart attack.

A Vietnamese woman suffering from hypertension and heart (problems) for more than 1 year already was found lying dead on a mattress in her house. They claim that she died of a heart attack.
Tje incident happend on June 13 2016 at 9.40AM at house numberXX, Street 464k, Andong 5 village, sankat Kook Roka, khan Prek Pnov.

The victim was identified as Sokh Ran (សុខ វ៉ាន់), female, 47YO, Vietnamese national, pharmacist, living in the house where the incident happend. She divorced from her husband more than 1 year ago and was living alone. She had no children.

Sources present at the scene said that in the morning before the incident she planned to go to the pagoda together with some neighbors but when the neighbors arrived at the pagoda they didn’t see the victim. The called the victim but nobody picked up the phone.
Afterwards, (other?) neighbors heard the sound of a telephone and took a look. They found her dead lying on a mattress.
They informed and asked the local police to conduct an investigation. It was concluded that the victim died of a heart attack.

The body of the victim was handed over to the family in order to organize a funeral ceremony.

Australian woman dies in a room of Casa Angkor Hotel because of a broken blood vessel in her stomach.

Siem Reap

On June 11 2016 around 4AM an Australian woman died in a hotel room in Siem Reap.
A tour company and the Australian embassy decided to keep her body at the Royal Angkor International Hospital awaiting a handing over to the family (of the victim).

According to the police who visited the place of the incident:
The Australian woman who died at Casa Angkor Hotel, 3rd floor, room number 328, Mondul1 village, sangkat Svay Dangkun, Siem Reap, was identified as SPRY SUSAN CLARA, 64YO (DOB 24/10/1952), Australian national, tourist, entered the country via Bavet. (Vietnam-Cambodia)

The police said that the victim had a history of physical illness (diabetes and hypertension).

According to the doctors the victim died of a broken blood vessel in her stomach because she had bruises on her body and blood was coming from her nose and mouth.

Phnom Penh: 28YO US MORGAN SAMUEL ARNOLD found dead in his bathroom.

According to the report:
The victim was identified as MORGAN SAMUEL ARNOLD, male, 29YO, US national.
He fatally fell in his bathroom without knowing the exact cause yet but it is suspected that he died of a heart disease (heart attack).
The local police conducted on investigation on June 10 2016 at 2.30PM at rental house number XXX, Street 144, Group 23, Village 3, sangkat Phsar Daum Thkov, khan Chomkarmon, Phnom Penh.
The local authorities said that the owner of the house reported that a foreigner fatally fell in the bathroom so they informed the police to investigate and find the cause of death. When arriving (at the scene) they found a foreign man lying dead in the badroom and let forensic experts perform an examination.

Phnom Penh: 55YO Taiwanese Chheng Ching Kun dies of hypertension and diabetes.

On June 2 2016 at 1.20PM an elderly man was found lying dead at house number XX, Street 11, Trapeang Thlung village, sangkat Chaom Khov, khan Por Sen Chey. He died of hypertension and diabetes.
The victim was identified as Chheng Ching Koun (ឆឹង ជីងគួន), male, 55YO, Chinese-Taiwanese national, married with a 42YO Khmer woman, trader and living at the place of the incident. He had 3 children. (ក្នុងបន្ទុកគ្រួសារ)
His wife said that she married with the victim more than 20 years ago. It was only since the last months that the victim was seriously suffering from hypertension and diabetes.
Before his death the victim had lunch; afterwards he had respiratory problems leading to his death.
The police was informed to conduct an examination and issue a death certificate.

Siem Reap: 75YO American tourist Owens Robert Dean killed in traffic accident.

An elder American man was hit by a motorbike and died in a pool of blood when he returned from the circus, guiding a friend, left a tuk-tuk and crossed the street to buy beverages to take and drink at the hotel. The accident happend at 9.30PM on May 29 2016 in sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city close to the place where the victim was living.

Mr. Chao Mao Vireak, deputy-chief of Immigration, under the Provincial Police chief, said that after receiving the information the Provincial Immigration Police together with the Provincial Traffic Police went to visit the place of the accident and check the body of the victim.
The victim was identified as Owens Robert Dean, male, 75YO, American national, tourist, holder of the passport XXXXXXXX expiring on March 12 2019, living at Villa Made mrei (must be Villa Médamrei), room 109, located in Vihear Chen village, sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city. He arrived in Siem Reap on May 24 2016 via Siem Reap International Airport.

After the victim died in the traffic accident the police called the friend of the victim, identified as Roymond Sheridan, male, 70YO, American national, staying/living together with the victim, for questioning. He told the police that around 9.47PM on May 29 2016 he and a friend (the victim) returned from visiting a circus performance. Together they left the tuk-tuk bounding for the hotel. Then the victim crossed the street to go buy beverages to drink. At that moment he saw a motorbike, brand Duke with license plate Phnom Penh 1CF-9229, steered by an unidentified Khmer man, colliding with his friend from behind. The victim fell on the street, his body covered in blood, coming from his nose. He immediately died on the scene of the accident.

Currently the body of the the American victim is being held at Royal Angkor International Hospital awaiting a decision from the US embassy to be handed over to the family.

Sihanoukville: 62YO American Burgoyne JR. John James found dead in his rental room.

On May 31 2016 at 11.15AM at Group 2, Village 2, sangkat 2, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province the police received the information about the death of a foreigner in rental room 402 on the 3rd floor.

According to a 26YO woman, Lon Sreykeav, who claims to be the girlfriend of the victim:
She knows and has been living together with the victim for the past 4 years. In the night of May 30 2016 around midnight she felt very sleepy and went to bed first. She only knows that the victim left in the sofa working on (his) computer.
The next morning at 11AM, when she woke up, she found the victim sitting dead in the sofa.
During the time they lived together her boyfriend (the victim) often went to Thailand to treat a disease. (skin disease)

The owner of the rental room confirmed that the victim rented the room since November 12 2012.
The victim was identified as Burgoyne Jr. John James, male, DOB 08/12/1953, US national, holder of the passport XXXXXXX valid until 17/10/2022, holder of the visa EI 00973543 valid until 10/08/2016.
He first entered Cambodia on October 30 2012 via Phnom Penh International Airport.

Currently the body is being held at the scene awaiting the doctors and forensic experts to determine the cause of death and awaiting a decision from the family and representatives of the embassy.

Phnom Penh: 51YO Brit Paul Colin Clough dies on board of an ambulance.

Living in house Nr.XXX, Street 174, sangkat Phsar Thmey 3, khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
The victim died on board of an ambulance belonging to Central Hospital which is located close to the rental house of the victim.
The Technical and Scientific bureau of the police concluded that the victim died of a heart attack which can be caused by diabetes since the victim had diabetes for a long time already.

Phnom Penh: 46YO Swiss man Daniel Georg Zürcher found dead in Moona Hotel.

Overdose suspected.

A Swiss man was found lying dead in a room of Hotel Moona which is located on the corner of Street 103 (I guess Street 1003) and Street 1990, Group 7, Phnom Penh Thmey village/sangkat, khan Sen Sok.

According to police sources:
The victim was identified as Daniel Georg Zürcher, male, 46YO, holder of the passport XXXXXXXX valid until December 21 2024.

According to hotel-staff sources:
The victim checked-in on May 26 2016. On May 27 2016 the victim asked the hotel staff to help buying medicines and he went to room 105 to relax/sleep.
The next days he left his room to come pay but on May 30 2016 at 5PM they didn’t see him leave (the room) so the hotel staff went to check (and) saw the victim dead on his bed.

After an examination the police experts concluded that it was a case of too much drug use resulting in suicide by a scarf.

Sihanoukville: 65YO Canadian SANCHEZ OSCAR found dead in his bathroom.

According to the provincial Military police:
On May 30 2016 at 0.24AM they found the corps of a foreigner in the bathroom of the rental house belonging to Prom Chomreun (ព្រហ្ម ចំរើន) located in Group 19, Village 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as SANCHEZ OSCAR, male, DOB 02.02.1951, Canadian national, holder of the passport XXXXXXX expiring on 04.05.2025.
The victim started living in the rental house on 15.11.2013.
According to the examinations done by the Technical and Scientific Bureau and a doctor-expert:
The victim died of a pre-exisiting medical illness. (swollen hands and feet)
The corps is kept at the Provincial Referral Hospital awaiting the handing over to the family and embassy.

Phnom Penh: 37YO Malaysian Aaron Lim Hoong Tat dies of an overdose at Amanjaya Hotel.

Fatal drug overdose at a hotel (heart attack)

Phnom Penh

On May 26 2016 at 3PM a morphine overdose led to the death (heart attack) of a Malaysian man; he was found close to his bed in room 22 at Amanjaya Hotel (អាម៉ាន់ស្សាយ៉ា), Number 1, Street 154, Village 4, sangkat Psar Kandal 1, khan Daun Penh.

The police identified the victim as Aaron Limhoong Tat, male, 37YO, tourist, Malaysian national, temporarily living in the hotel where the incident happend.

According to a clarification to the police of Tooch Chan Srey Sros, female, 37YO, manager at the hotel:
Before the incident on May 26 at 2PM Chariya (ចរិយា), female, 25YO, receptionist at the hotel told that the victim, staying at room 22, had to check-out because he stopped renting the room so the receptionist knocked on the door of his room but there was no response and the victim didn’t open the door.
The receptionist asked the help of a technical staff member to open the door. The found the victim lying dead in the neighborhood of the bed and they report the incident to the police.

A biopsy revealed by a commission of experts revealed that the foreigner died of a heart attack caused by a morphine overdose.
