On May 26 2016 at 10AM the corps of a foreigner was discovered in the bed of room 016 at the ground floor of Hotel Serendipity (សឺរិនឌីភីធី) located in Group 14, Village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as PAULIC ANDREAS, male, 55YO, Austrian national (អូទ្រីស), holder of the passport PXXXXXXXXX valid until January 19 2019, visa TI11036733 valid until June 17 2016, tourist.
The victim checked-in in the afternoon of May 25 2016.
The cause of death is not yet clear.

Siem Reap: French Erich Robert Marceau Gutekunst dies after a fire.

The president of an organization (NGO) was killed by a fire after being sent to the hospital.

Siem reap
A French man who’s the president of an organization (NGO) helping refugee children stationed at Siem Reap was killed by a house fire while taken to the hospital.

The incident happend on May 14 2016 at 8PM at Trapaeng Seh village (ត្រពាំងសេះ), sangkat Kook Chak (គោកចក), Siem Reap city.

According to the police:
Immediately after the incident the victim was taken to the Royal Angkor International (រ៉ូយ៉ាល់) Hospital for treatment. On May 15 2016 the victim passed away because of too bad burns. Doctors were not able to rescue him.

The victim was identiefied as ERICH GUTE KUNST (must be Erich Gutekunst), 54YO, president of an NGO helping refugee children stationed at Siem Reap, holder of the passport XXXXXXXXXX.

Currently the corps of the victim is stored awaiting the hand-over to the embassy.

Sihanoukville: 56YO American Alberto Isoni found dead by hanging at Otres Lodge.

The police informed that the decomposed corps of an American man, who killed himself by hanging, was spotted in a rental room located at Otres Beach (sangkat 4) in the morning of May 13 2016.
The found person was identified as ISONI ALBERTO, male, born on 14.01.1960, American national, holder of the passport XXXXXXXXX valid till 10.04.2017.
He checked in at Bungalow Otres Lodge (លុច្ស) located in Group 2, village 6, sangkat 4 on 08.05.2016.
The body was kept at the place of the incident awaiting the technical & scientific police and a doctor to conduct an examination.

Kampot: 34YO Vietnamese NGUYEN THANH LONG drowns at Banyan Tree Guesthouse.

Vietnamese national drowns at Daum Chrey (Banyan Tree) Restaurant and Guesthouse.

According to the Immigration dept:
A Vietnamese national drowned at Banyan Restaurant and Guesthouse. The victim was identified as NGUYEN THANH LONG, DOB 29/04/1982, Vietnamese national, holder of Vietnamese ID card XXXXXXXXXX. The victim jumped in the water and disappeared around 1AM on May 10 2016 at Banyan Guesthouse and Restaurant located in Oo Tooch village (អូតូច), sangkat Ondoong Khmer (អណ្ដូងខ្មែរ), Kampot city, Kampot province.

His body was found around 5AM the same day in the Kampot creek (ព្រែកកំពត) at the same place (low tide).
The Technical office and a doctor concluded that the victim drowned.
The corps is saved at the Provincial Referral Hospital.
The police is currently in contact with the consul stationed in Preah Sihanouk province in order to find/contact relatives of the victim.
The police confirmed that the victim died in the creek which is located at the Banyan Restaurant and Guesthouse.

French national falls and fatally beats his head in the bathroom while taking a bath/shower.

On May 9 2016 at 5.40PM a French man died of a heart-attack in the bathroom of Home Town Hotel located number 350Eo, Street 172, Group 19, Village 5, sangkat Chey Chum Neas (ជ័យជំនះ), khan Daun Penh.

The victim was identified as Beausoleil Pierre Andre Rene, male, 63YO, French national, tourist, holder of the passport XXXXXXXXX, staying at sangkat Chey Chum Neas (ជ័យជំនះ), khan Daun Penh.

According to Hom Sreymom (ហុំ ស្រីមុំ), female, 31YO, girlfriend of the victim:
Before the incident on May 6 2016 at 9.30 (AM or PM) the victim called her to come over to Home Town Hotel, room 305 on the 3rd floor.

From then on she and the victim stayed together until May 9 2016 5.40PM when the victim told her that he would take a shower/bath in the bathroom. Some moments later she heard the sound of shower head falling down (សំឡេងធ្លាក់ផ្កាឈូកងូតទឹក). She took a look and saw the victim falling down and smashing his head against the wall of the bathroom. Furthermore he also stopped breathing. She immediately called a supervisor of the hotel for help and called an ambulance from Calmette Hospital as well but when the ambulance arrived and the hospital staff checked his pulse it became clear that the victim already died.

It was concluded that the victim died of a heart attack.
The body was sent to Calmette’s morgue awaiting its funeral ceremony.

Phnom Penh: 67YO American Michael Hsu, owner of Sharky Bar, found dead.

Owner of restaurant Sharky Bar dies of a heart attack inside the restaurant.

On May 8 2016 at 2.40PM at house number 126E1, Street 130, sangkat Phsar Kandal 2, khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh, an American man, who is the owner of restaurant Sharky Bar, was found dead, face down, in his office.

According to the police:
The foreigner who was found dead was identified as Micheal Keeming (should be Michael Kee Ming Hsu), male, 57YO (should be 67YO), owner of Sharky Bar, living in Lux Hotel, Room 713, Street 136, Sangkat Phsar Kandal 1, khan Daun Penh, holder of the passport XXXXXXXXX.

According to the clarification/explanation of Heng Sokonthea (ហេង សុគន្ធា), female, 27YO: before the incident, at 2.20PM on May 8 2016, she knocked on the door of the office of the victim but there was no answer. She was suspicious, took a key and had a look. She spotted the victim face down on the floor and informed the police.

After the incident, the Technical-Scientific department of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police and a doctor belonging to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court conducted an examination on the corps and of the scene and concluded that the victim certainly died of a heart attack.

The corps was sent to the Russian Hospital.

Phnom Penh: Hungarian Posch Vilmos Istvan found dead in Chan Navy Guesthouse.

A Hungarian national was found dead inside a room in Chan Navi Guesthouse (ចាន់ ណាវី).

In the morning of May 5 2016 the police and authorities conducted an investigation on a corps after they received the information that a foreigner died inside a room of Chan Navi/Chan Navy Guesthouse. (ចាន់ ណាវី)
According to the village chief of Chong Thnol West (ចុងថ្នល់ខាងលិច):
The victim was identified as Posch Vilmos Istvan, Hungarian, 68YO, living in the guesthouse of the incident located in Chong Thnol West village (ចុងថ្នល់ខាងលិច), sangkat Tuk Thlaa (ទឹកថ្លា), khan Saen Sok (ឌសែនសុខ).
Currently the police of the khan and forensic experts are conducting an examination.

Phnom Penh: 61YO British language teacher WARNER PAUL ANTHONY dies in a coffee shop.

A British teacher sat dead inside a coffee shop of a Tela petrol station located at the corner of Psar Touk Sangkae (ផ្សារទួលសង្កែ) in Toul Sangkae village (ផ្សារទួលសង្កែ), sangkat Toul Sangkae (ផ្សារទួលសង្កែ), khan Russey Keo (ឫស្សីកែវ).

The incident happend on May 4 2016 at 10.40AM.

The victim is an English language teacher in the neighbourhood of the place of the incident. Before the incident he entered the coffee shop to eat/drink a hamburger and a coffee.
Afterwards, for some unknown reasons, while he was eating, he passed away.
The identity (of the victim) and the death cause are still unknown.

German man dies in Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital.

A German man was found dead on May 1 2016 at 7.30AM after he was taken to the Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital located in Village 4, sangkat 4, Sihanoukville city because of anemia (ខ្វះគ្រាប់ឈាម).

The police identified him as NEIDHARDT RAINER ULRICH, male, DOB 27/06/1964, German national, holder of passport XXXXXXXXXX valid till 27/07/2018. He entered the hospital for treatment on April 29 2016 at 8PM and died on April 30 at 10.50PM.

According to the judgement/conclusion of the police and the doctor the victim died because of severely anemia. (ខ្វះគ្រាប់ឈាម)

The husband of the president of Star Foundation NGO died of a heart attack.

Phnom Penh
A British man, known as the husband of the president of the NGO Star Foundation, died of a heart attack which they suspect was caused by a morphine (ម៉កហ្វីន) overdose.

According to the police:
The victim was sent to Calmette but doctors concluded that he died already on April 26 2016 after being sent from rental house 148E4, Street 63, Group 26, Village 6, sangkat Chatomouk, khan Daun Penh.

The victim was identified as Davies Richard Mathew, male, 29YO, British national, started living in the rental house which was the place of the incident on April 12 2016, working as a teacher.

According to a statement/explanation from William Kathe Rine ELizabeth, female, 26YO, British national, chairman/president of NGO Star Foundation, to the police:
In the morning of April 26 2016 her husband left the house to go teach student. He returned to eat and sleep on the sofa. In the evening of the same day suddenly her husband didn’t feel well. She told the owner of the rental house to bring her husband to a doctor/hospital (ពេទ្យ) but on arrival the doctor concluded that her husband already died.

After the incident the police performed an autopsy and confirmed that the victim died of a heart attack which can be caused by a morphine overdose (អាចមកពីការប្រើប្រាស់ថ្នាំម៉កហ្វីនច្រើនពេក).

The corps was sent to the morgue of the Russian Hospital awaiting a funeral ceremony.
