Norwegian man found dead in hotel Crystal (​គ្រី​ស្តាល់)

In the night of February 8 at 9.15PM the police received the information that a Norwegian man died a Crystal Hotel.
After receiving the information the police went to the place of the incident.
The victim (dead): DAHLS TROM SVEN ATLE (Sven Atle Dahlstrøm), male, Norwegian, born on 15/06/1969, holder of passport XXXXXXXX valid till 07/12/2015, visa XXXXXXXX, entered Cambodia via Phnom Penh International Airport, checked-in Crystal Hotel on 05/02/2016 together with a friend.
He stayed on the 3rd floor in room number 304 of Crystal Hotel together with another Norwegian male friend TUNESTVEDT KENNET; born on 14/09/1965, holder of the passport XXXXXXXX valid till 07/02/2021, visa TIXXXXXXXX valid till 04/03/2016.
According to his friend:
Before the incident they were drinking whiskey mixed with Coca-Cola (in total around 2 bottles). After they became drunken they went sleep each in their own bed. Around 8.30PM the friend of the victim woke up and suddenly saw the victim sleeping between the beds. His body had a very pale colour.
He immediately ran down to inform the hotel manager/administrator and ask for a doctor. When the manager entered the room he knew that the victim already died and informed the authorities.
After an examination of the body it was concluded that the victim died because of an heart attack.
The body stayed at the place of the incident awaiting a decision of the embassy or the family of the victim.

Sihanoukville: Foreigner questioned after traffic incident.

It was reported that a foreigner sought a conflict with the traffic police past midnight on February 5 2016. The incident happend when the police were doing an alcohol check along the street close to the Lion’s roundabout. The suspect continued driving his motorbike very fast which made him fall and resulted in some minor injuries. The police brought him to a doctor for a check-up and after that they brought him to the Provincial Traffic Police Station for questioning.

Sihanoukville: American MAHONEY SHANE THOMAS found dead in Marina hotel.

According to Facebook:

The body of an elderly Canadian man was found sitting against a bathtub around 11AM on January 18 2016. The victim was found in room D1 of Marina Hotel, located in Group 27, Phum 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as RUSSELL GERALD WALTER, male, Canadian national, born on 18/01/1947, 69 years old, passport number GBXXXXXX valid until 30/12/2015.
The cause of death is still unknown.
Currently the body is stil at the scene awaiting the police and a doctor to do an examination.

Afterwards the identity of the victim was changed to US national Mahoney Shane Thomas.

Sihanoukville: American DZUIK RADOMIR found dead by hanging.

An American national was found dead by hanging in a house. The incident happened at 8AM on January 16 2016 in Group 24, Phum 3, Sangkat 3, Krong Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as DZUIK RADOMIR, male, born on 20/06/1956. His wife was identified as Chuon Bela, Khmer national, 33 years old.
Currently the body is still at the scene awaiting an examination by the coroner.

Swiss national apologizes to the Khmer people after he rolled his cigarettes with a 100riel note.

Sihanoukville:
The incident happened in the night of January 12 2016 and was noticed after Sambath Meas posted it on Facebook in the morning of January 13 2016.
The Swiss national, who’s a tourist, apologized to the Khmer people living in Sihanoukville after he used a 100riel note to roll his cigarette(s).
This act was considered as a serious insult. However, the citizens accepted his apologies after the Swiss national realized his mistake and kneeled to apologize.
In the reactions on the post some people said it’s good that the people recognized his error.

Danish national found dead in bungalow in Ochheuteal, Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville
A Danish national was found dead inside a bungalow next to Ochheuteal beach. This incident happened on January 4 2016 past midnight in Phum 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.

According to the Khmer owner of the bungalow his staff found the dead body while checking and closing the bungalows. They found the body next to the door of bungalow Nr.2 and they noticed that the room was full with dirth/filth. The reported the incident to the police who came examine the scene.

The victim was identified as Elowsson Tom Flemming, Danish national, born in 1950, passport number XXXXXXXXX valid until August 11 2024. He checked in more than 1 month ago.

According to the authorities the victim died of an heart attack. The corps is held at the Referral Provincial Hospital awaiting instructions from the Danish Embassy.
