Stole a mobile phone from a foreigner, police caught one suspect and another escaped.

A suspect, belonging to a duo, was arrested by the Military Police of Daun Penh after he stole a mobile phone from a foreigner and tried to escape. Another suspect managed to escape. The incident happened at 9.30PM on January 12 2016 in Street 67 located in Sangkat Psar Thmey 2, Khan Daun Penh.

The Military Police of Daun Penh says the suspect was identified as Thaa Phoktey (ថា ភក្តី), male, 21 years old, living in House Nr.111, Street 154, Phum8, Sangkat Psar Thmey 2, Khan Daun Penh. The arrested suspect was driving the motorbike.
A black Honda C125, license plate Phnom Penh 1FL- 4323, and 2 mobile phones (an LG and an HTC) were confiscated.
The victim was identified as Vincenzo Torrente, a 39 years old Italian tourist staying in Aura Hotel, Street 19, Sangkat Chy Chomneah, Khan Daun Penh.

Before the incident the victim was looking at his phone on the corner of Street 172 with Street 19. Suddenly the 2 suspects, driving their motorbike, showed up, approached the victim and robbed his white Samsung mobile phone.
After that the suspects fled along Street 19 northbound. The victim called for help and immediately the police, who was patrolling in the neighborhood, chased the suspects until they reached Street 67 (outside GSM) where they arrested the driver of the motorbike. The other suspect, the one with the mobile phone of the victim, escaped. He’s identified as Ra (រ៉ា) and living in Street 81, Psar Thmey 2(behind GSM).

The suspects will be sent to the court.

Stole a mobile phone and escaped but immediately caught by PM.

2 robbers were arrested by the Military Police from Daun Penh on January 12 2016 at 2PM in Street 63, on the corner with Street 136, Sangkat Psar Thmey 1, Khan Daun Penh.

According to the police they arrested 2 suspects in a case of a robbery of a mobile phone from a foreigner.
The suspects are a 22 years old without a clear job (the robber) and a 24 years old without a clear job (the driver of the motorbike).
A black Honda Dream motorbike C125 and a black Iphone6 (the phone of the victim) were confiscated upon their arrest.

The victim of the robbery was identified as the 21 years old Australian national ALICE UNWIN AUSTIN.
According to the police, before the incident the victim was looking on her phone on the corner of Street 154 with Street 63.
Suddenly the 2 suspects, driving a black motorbike, approached the victim and took her Iphone6. After that the 2 suspects tried to escape on their motorbike along Street 19 from the North to the South. The victim screamed for help. Immediately the police who was patrolling intervened and followed the suspects till the corner of Street 136 with Street 63.
The suspects dumped their motorbike and tried to escape by entering Psar Thmey. One suspect threw the phone in a shop. The 2 suspects were arrested and transported to the police office.

The mobile phone was overhanded to the victim. The suspect will be sent to court.

Phnom Penh: Foreigner victim of a robbery along Norodom Blvd.

Foreigner is the victim of a robbery (motorbike and money)

Phnom Penh:
A foreigner was found unconscious and alone in the street. He was suffering a head injury. Probably he was robbed from his motorbike and money. The incident happend at 3.30AM on January 9 2016 along Norodom Boulevard in front of the Lycee Sisowath located in Khan Daun Penh.

Witnesses saw the victim, around 30 years old, lying in the street with a head injury. They don’t know if a fight happened or that he fell on his own so they called an ambulance to bring him to the hospital but the victim refused treatment.

Then, a female employee of a shop, who passed the place of the incident, said that the victim is a customer at her shop and also before the incident the victim visited her shop but she didn’t know what happened.

According to witnesses the victim was driving a yellow Honda Click without license plates when he left the shop. After the incident they didn’t see the motorbike and also his wallet and mobile phone were missing. They suspect a robbery.

The employee of the shop asked a tuk-tuk to transfer the victim to a private clinic for treatment. There were no complaints filed or report made by the authorities.
