Sihanoukville: American MAHONEY SHANE THOMAS found dead in Marina hotel.

According to Facebook:

The body of an elderly Canadian man was found sitting against a bathtub around 11AM on January 18 2016. The victim was found in room D1 of Marina Hotel, located in Group 27, Phum 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as RUSSELL GERALD WALTER, male, Canadian national, born on 18/01/1947, 69 years old, passport number GBXXXXXX valid until 30/12/2015.
The cause of death is still unknown.
Currently the body is stil at the scene awaiting the police and a doctor to do an examination.

Afterwards the identity of the victim was changed to US national Mahoney Shane Thomas.

Siem Reap: Australian ANDREW DAVID MURRAY dies during motorbike-trip.

The owner of Boutique (Hotel) Billina dies from fainting/exhaustion along the street while doing a motorbike-trekking with his customers.

The incident happened when the group was visiting Beng Meleas Temple.

The incident/accident happened along National Road 6.

According to the Provincial Immigration Police:
The victim is Murry Andrew David, 51 years old, owner of Boutique Billina, located in Phum Slok Raam, Sangkat Slok Raam, Siem Reap City. Entered Cambodia on 02/12/2015 till 01/01/2017.

At the day of the accident, according to witnesses, the victim was driving a dirt bike with no license plates and guiding a group of customers to Beng Meleas Temple in Svay Leu district. On their way back suddenly the victim fell from his bike without anyone else touching him.

A medical examination showed that the victim really fell from his motorbike by himself. The body doesn’t show any injuries. The victim died from exhaustion.

Currently the corpse is kept at the Royal Angkor International Hospital awaiting the embassy to overhand it to the family.

An American national was found dead by hanging in a house. The incident happened at 8AM on January 16 2016 in Group 24, Phum 3, Sangkat 3, Krong Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as DZUIK RADOMIR, male, born on 20/06/1956. His wife was identified as Chuon Bela, Khmer national, 33 years old.
Currently the body is still at the scene awaiting an examination by the coroner.

A foreigner was found dead in the rental house Nr.184, Street 357, Phum Daum Sleeng (ដើមស្លែង), Sangkat Chbar Ampov 2 (ច្បារអំពៅ២), Khan Chbar Ampov (ច្បារអំពៅ). The victim was identified as Klomsten Morten Einar, male, 43 years old, Norwegian national, living in Velkommen Guesthouse located in Sangkat Psar kandal1, Khan Daun Penh, tourist.

Before the incident the victim met Sok Sreypov (សុខ ស្រីពៅ), female, 24 years old, Vietnamese national, working at home, living in a rental room above the place of the incident for 3 years.
On January 12 2016 the victim called Sok Sreypov for a meeting and on January 13 2016 around 5PM they met in a restaurant located at Psar Kandal till around 8PM. Afterwards they went to the place of the incident. The victim took (opened?) a bottle of Johnnie Walker BLACK LABEL 1L which they drank together. Sok Ampov went buying a case of Angkor beer which they drank together (6 people) including the (I assume her) older stepbrother. The victim drank half of the bottle until around midnight when he told the others that he felt tired. At 1AM on January 14 2016 they saw the victim snoring too loud and they put him in a room.

In the morning Sok Sreypov went visit her child in Takmao together with her older brother. When she returned at 5PM to the rental house she saw that the victim had foam around his mouth. She reported this to the police who concluded that the victim already died.
According to the coroner the victim died because of an heart attack. Currently the body is kept at Stung Meanchey Pagoda awaiting the family to organize a ceremony.

British national found dead in a rental room; exhaustion/fainting suspected as death cause.

Siem Reap
A British national was found dead in a rental room in Phum Banteay Chas (បន្ទាយចាស់), Sangkat Slok Raam (ស្លក្រាម), Krong Siem Reap.

According to the authorities the victim was a tourist, who hired the room temporary, was found dead in the room located in the above mentioned location.

The incident, which shocked neighbors and the owner of the room, happened at 7PM on January 13 2016. According to the conclusions of the authorities it could be that the victim already died 2 days before his body was found.

Please note that a team of doctors and the authorities who did an authopsy/examination informed that the victim died because of exhaustion/fainting and that drugs were found in the room.

Belgian national dies of an heart attack in Cyclo (ស៊ីក្លូ) Guesthouse.

A Belgian national got a heart attack in Cyclo Guesthouse and was sent to a private hospital by a tuk-tuk. He wasn’t accepted and was sent to Calmette Hospital but he died on his way to Calmette.

The incident happened at 3.30PM on January 10 2016 in the Cyclo Guesthouse, located in Nr.50, corner of Street 172 and Street 23, Phum 8, Sankat Chy Chomneah, Khan Daun Penh.

The victim was identified as Peleriaux Christophe Roberth, male, 39 years old, tourist, passport number EJXXXXXX, staying in room Nr.9 on the 2nd floor in the Cyclo Guesthouse.

According to Gregory large, a 29 years old French national and son of the owner of the guesthouse, before the incident at 3.30PM he went to room Nr.2 on the first floor and saw the body of his friend sitting/lying. Saliva was running from his mouth. The victim didn’t recover and groaned. Another friend was called to come help lift the victim. The victim threw up blood and strengthened his chest, he had a running nose and mouth. An ambulance was called but no-one showed up so the victim was carried into a tuk-tuk and sent to the Naga private hospital but the doctor sent them to Calmette Hospital. When they arrived in the hospital 2 persons returned to take the passport of the victim from the guesthouse. When they returned to the hospital the doctor told them that the victim already died and the authorities were informed.

A coroner of the Municipal Court of Phnom Penh said that the victim died of an heart attack. The body is kept at Calmette Hospital.

Danish national found dead in bungalow in Ochheuteal, Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville
A Danish national was found dead inside a bungalow next to Ochheuteal beach. This incident happened on January 4 2016 past midnight in Phum 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.

According to the Khmer owner of the bungalow his staff found the dead body while checking and closing the bungalows. They found the body next to the door of bungalow Nr.2 and they noticed that the room was full with dirth/filth. The reported the incident to the police who came examine the scene.

The victim was identified as Elowsson Tom Flemming, Danish national, born in 1950, passport number XXXXXXXXX valid until August 11 2024. He checked in more than 1 month ago.

According to the authorities the victim died of an heart attack. The corps is held at the Referral Provincial Hospital awaiting instructions from the Danish Embassy.

Irish man found dead in Gueshouse Domrey Sar (White Elephant)

One Irish national was found dead inside the room of the Domrey Sar (White Elephant) Guesthouse located in Sangkat Prek Aeng, Khan Chbar Ampov on January 3 2016.

According to the report the victim was identified as Andrian McCain (អែនឌ្រៀន មែខេន), Irish national, 40 years old.
In the case of this death there are no conclusions made yet.

Foreigner found dead in the room of a rental house; death cause unknown.

Sihanoukville:
A foreigner was found dead in the room of a rental house but the dead cause is still unknown. The dead body was found in the morning of January 2 2016 in Group1, Phum3, Sangkat4, Sihanoukville.

Authorities identified the deceased as Croy James Robert, male, 74 years old, American national, passport number XXXXXXXXX, visa number XXXXXXXX, valid till June 6 2015.

According to the police the body of the deceased didn’t show any scars related to a murder. The same police has no idea about the cause of death.
2 other sources said that the victim died because of heart problems and exhaustion. Nobody knew and nobody helped.

Currently the corpse is kept in the morgue of the Provincial Hospital awaiting further instructions from the embassy.

2 Korean men die in a house after their wifes infused them with a serum.

Phnom Penh:
2 Korean men, more than 50 years old, died in the room of a house after they returned from drinking in the house of a friend. When they came home they felt hot and exited in their chest because they drank too much. This made their wifes, who are also doctor, take their blood pressure, inject medicines and infuse them with a serum.This led to a reaction resulting in the death of both men.

The incident already happened in the night of January 1 2016 but was only discovered on January 2 2016 at 1PM when the Korean Embassy informed the local police after receiving a telephone call from the wifes of both victims at 11PM on the same day.

The authorities identified both victims as Huong Chang, male, 56 years old and Mun Chol, male, 50 years old. Both are vendors having a business in Cambodia since many years already.

According to the wifes on January 1 2016 both husbands went drinking in the house of a friend. When they returned they felt hot and excited in their chest and started screaming and scratching their chest with their hands causing many cuts and bruises. When they noticed this they tried to help their husbands. They put one in the mezzanine, took his blood pressure (which was low), gave him 2 injections with a medicine and infused him with a serum. They put the other victim downstairs and they infused him also with a serum. Before both men suffered from stomach ulsters.

They added that after infusing both men with a serum they saw them sleep well. The next morning at 11AM both men suddenly died. This made the wifes very nervous. They didn’t report the incident to the local authorities. Instead they informed the embassy about this case.

Police officers from the post Buk Kok 2 [i](បឹកកក់២; I guess Bung Kok 2)[/i] said that local authorities only received the news by 1PM on January 2 2016 after the South-Korean Embassy informed them. They immediately co-operated with the police experts and went to the house to find the 2 men dead with cuts on their chests, caused by fingernails. They didn’t make any final conclusions yet. As a first impression it can be concluded that both men died because of a reaction of the medicines injected by and the serum infused by their wifes. However, this is only a first impression and the experts are still doing research and a biopsy.
