Phnom Penh: Belgian Juillard Etienne arrested for fraudulently withdrawing money.

Black man arrested on charges of withdrawing money in a fraudulent way from Canadia Bank for in total more than 50.000USD.

On March 21 2016 at 11.50AM in sangkat Srah Chok ( ស្រះចក), khan Daun Penh, a black man was detained by Canadia Bank and taken to the Immigration Police belonging to the Municipal Police of Phnom Penh on charges of fraudulently stealing money, in total 48.000USD, by withdrawing from the bank.

According to Canadia Bank:
The suspect, identified as Kanzi Francis Olivier, male, 38YO, Belgian national, fraudulently withdrew a total of 48.000USD from the branch Stat Chas (ស្តាតចាស់) on Friday March 18 2016. Today the suspect visited the branch Toul Kook to withdraw another 90.000USD but the bank became suspicious and told the suspect to withdraw the money from the headquarters in Phnom Penh, located along Monivong Blvd, sangkat Srah Chok (ស្រះចក), khan Daun Penh.
Meanwhile the bank found out that the suspect used fake documents and various names. Suddenly the suspect opened the door of his vehicle with the intention to escape but the security of the bank chased the suspect with a motorbike. He was detained and overhanded to the local police.

The suspect was forwarded to the Immigration Police for questioning and building a case.

Sihanoukville: Danish Luna Aagren seriously injured in traffic accident.

At least one foreign woman was seriously injured, there’s not much hope that she will survive, and transferred to Phnom Penh after she collided with a vehicle Tiko on March 19 2016 at 9.45PM along the street going to Otres Beach, located in village 6, sangkat 4, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province.

According to the traffic police:
On March 19 2016 at 9.45PM along the street going to Otres Beach, located in village 6, sangkat 4, Sihanoukville there was a traffic accident between a blue/green (ខៀវ) colored converted Tiko (ទីកូកែច្នៃ), license plate Phnom Penh 2B.9640 steered by a 28 YO Khmer man coming from Sihanoukville and driving in the direction of Otres, having a car business in converted Tikos, he fled the scene after the accident, and a gold-colored motorbike Fino without license plates, steered by Luna (ឡូ ណា), a 50YO Danish female tourist, driving in the direction of Sihanoukville coming from Otres (from West to East).

Nobody witnessed the incident because the location is dark and quiet. The police investigated to find out which party caused (the accident).

Currently the car and the motorbike are stored at the Provincial Police Office to be dealt with at a later moment.

The incident happend at 7AM on March 18 2016 in house 39B, Street 242, sangkat Vialvong ( វាលវង់), khan 7 Makara.
Police is still investigating.

New Zealander dies from a heart attack on his way to the Provincial Referral Hospital

Kampot
A foreigner identified as JOHN GEORGE CATALINAC, male, born on 02/07/1942, New Zealander, holder of passport LNXXXXXX, living in a rental house located in May 1 village (១ឧសភា), sangkat Kampong Kandal (កំពង់កណ្តាល), Kampot district, Kampot province died around 6PM on March 16 2016 because of an heart attack.
He was found and rushed to the Kampot Provincial Referral Hospital but because his condition was serious he died.
After approval from the embassy and in collaboration with the Kampot Provincial Referral Hospital his body was sent to the Russian Hospital in Phnom Penh.

The dead body of an Australian man was found on a bed (cause of death unknown) in rental room 101 of the guesthouse Queen Side (ឃ្វីនសាយ).
The incident happend at 8.30AM on March 11 2016 in Group 14, village 4, sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.
The victim was identified as MURRAY JOHN, male, ??YO (អាយុត២ឆ្នាំ, typo), Australian.
The victim checked-in on February 26 2016.
The body is still at the place of the incident awaiting a group a experts doing a biopsy.

British man found dead in Prey Nob district.
Provincial Police of Sihanoukville

On March 9 2016 at 4PM the police received the information that at Prey Koh Sompootch (ព្រៃកោះសំពោច), located in Oung village, Ream commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province people spotted the corpse of a man. When the police arrived at the place of the incident they found the decomposed body. (the victim died maybe more than 1 month ago). (They found) one backpack (with the hand of the victim on top of the bag) containing a passport: number XXXXXXXXXXXX, Micael James, male, 49YO, British citizen. Because it was already night/dark the police closed the scene of the incident waiting until tomorrow to continue to examination of the body.

Case of a dead foreigner in Boeung Kok 2.

On March 8 2016 at 6.30PM the administrative police of Boeung Kok 2, khan Toul Kook, received the news from an official of the embassy of the Republic of Korea that a Korean national died in room 512 (on the fifth floor) of De Castle Diamond which is located at number 158, Street 315, Group 33, village 2, sangkat Boeung Kok 2, khan Toul Kook, Phnom Penh.

The victim was identified as Myeongja Noh, female, born on 14/04/1938, Korean, job at home (មុខរបរ នៅផ្ទះ), living in room 512 (on the fifth floor) of De Castle Diamond, located at number 158, Street 315, Group 33, village 2, sangkat Boeung Kok 2, khan Toul Kook, Phnom Penh, holder of passport number XXXXXXXXXXX issued on 22/07/2011, holder of the visa Ei 00794366 issued on 27/07/2015.

The events:
The victim who has disabilities to walk and suffers dementia was taken care for/giving shelter to by her son, who is a widower and working as a business trader, since July 2011.
At around 6.30PM the son arrived in the room and found his mother dead. He informed the embassy and the authorities.
The conclusion of the examination by the Technical Police and the doctor is that the victim died of old age.
The body was returned to the family for funeral services.

A young British man found dead in White River Guesthouse; overdose suspected.

Phnom Penh
A British man, they suspect that he took an overdose of drugs which caused a fatal heart attack in a room of the White River Guesthouse, surprised the police of khan Daun Penh. The went immediately examining (the incident), but the cause is still unclear.

The incident happend in the morning of March 7 2016 at the White River Guesthouse located Nr.111, room 204, second floor, corner of Street 172 with Street 19, sangkat Chy Chomneah, khan Daun Penh.

The victim was identified as Brown Sean Gorski, male, 29YO, holder of passport number XXXXXXXX, staying in the guesthouse of the incident.

According to witnesses:
Everyday the victim rented a room in the guesthouse by leaving and entering the room but on the day of the incident the staff went upstairs to clean the room of the victim as usual and they saw the victim sleeping on the bed, not waken up yet. They took a look and called him but he didn’t reply and he also didn’t move. The realized that the victim was dead and informed the local police.

According to people close to the place of the incident:
Foreigners mostly die like this because they use too much drugs in the room of a guesthouse causing a fatal heart attack.

After the incident the police did an examination and a biopsy confirmed that the victim died of an heart attack.

The body was sent to the morgue of the Russian Hospital.

Foreigner found dead on the second floor of a rental house in sangkat 3.

Sihanoukville
On March 5 2016 at 5.30PM the police received the information that there was a dead foreigner on the second floor of a rental house located in village 1, sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.
The body was identified as Alesyeyenko Valeriy, male, born on 06/05/1971, Ukrainian national, holder of passport XXXXXXXXXX valid until 27/12/2022, visa EI 00325408 valid until 09/03/2016. The body was kept at the scene awaiting an examination by the police.
