Phnom Penh: 65-year-old Brit Jones Malcolm Stanley dies at RS Mart; police say heart-attack.

On December 24 2016 at 1.30AM a British man died at RS Mart which is situated No.33E0, Street 178, Group 8, Village 2, sangkat Chey Chomnaeh, khan Daun Penh, Daun Penh.

The local police identified the victim as Jonses MalcolmStanley (must be Jones Malcolm Stanley), born in December 27 1950.
The victim is a British tourist who entered Cambodia through PPIA on October 25 2016.

The victim first went to the bathroom. After that the mart’s manager noticed that the victim didn’t feel well and shouted for help.
2 foreigners intervened; the lifted the victim into a vehicle and took him to Calmette Hospital. On arrival a doctor examined the man and concluded that he already passed away.

On the victim’s body the police found a medical report issued by CT poly-clinic stating that the victim suffered a cardio-vascular disease so the police concluded that he died of a heart attack.

The corpse has been kept at the Russian Hospital.

Phnom Penh: 38-year-old British expat Jonathan James Briercliffe found dead, cause unclear.

On December 24 2016 at 1AM a foreigner died on the 2nd floor of house No.XX, Street 310, Village 2, sangkat Boeung Keng Kong 1, khan Chamkar Mon.

The local police identified the victim as 38YO British Briercliffe Jonathan James, working as an online salesperson.

The cause of his dead is not clear since the police didn’t perform an autopsy yet.

Poipet: 51-year-old Thai Tawan Onjeera dies of hypertension.

In the afternoon of December 22 2016 at 4PM a Thai man, married with to a Khmer woman, died of hypertension in O’Chrov village, sangkat Poipet, Poipet city.

Phnom Penh: 57-year-old American William Dexter Wooldridge dies in Europe Guest House of drug-induced heart failure.

On December 22 at 11AM a foreigner died in the bathroom of room No.203 in Europe Guesthouse.
Europe Guesthouse is situated No.51, Street 136, Group 20, Village 13, Phsar Kandal 1 commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh.

According to a Vuth Sokhly, working as a receptionist in the guesthouse:
The victim has been identified as 57-year-old American tourist Wooldridee William Dexter (I guess Wooldridge William Dexter). He stayed at the guesthouse where the incident happened.

The victim checked in on December 19 2016 at 1PM.

He left his room on December 20 2016 at noon and went to the reception to pay for his room. After that he returned to his room.

On December 21 and December 22 nobody noticed the victim to pay for the room.

The receptionist became suspicious, took a look at 11(AM or PM) and found the victim sitting dead, in a decomposing state, in the bathroom.

The owner of the guesthouse and the police of Phsar Kandal 1 were informed.

An examination of the body and a biopsy, performed by a coroner of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and the Technical-Scientific department of the police, revealed that the victim died of a drug-induced (opiates and meth-amphetamines) heart attack.

Currently the body has been kept at the morgue of the Russian Hospital waiting for the handing over to the American Embassy.

Tbong Khmum: 50YO Chinese Sokh Thy commits suicide after gambling loss.

An elder Chinese man committed suicide by overdosing on medicines after gambling losses; he is survived by his Khmer wife who forced him to choose between her or gambling.
The incident happened on December 22 2016 at 2AM in the wife’s house which is situated in Khcheay village, Tombaer commune, Tombaer district, Tbong Khmum province.

The police identified the victim as 50YO Sokh Thy, Chinese national and living in Prey Veng province who came to farm in Trapeang Chreh which is situated in Khcheay village, Tombaer commune, Tombaer district.
His wife is a 32YO Khmer national living at the place where the incident happened.

The victim gambled away his money in Bavet city which led to a verbal dispute between him and his wife 2 to 3 days before the incident. He told him over the telephone to choose between her and the game.

The corpse has been handed over to the family after performing an examination.

Battambang: 43YO Thai Manee Chaiyabutara found strangled to death in border casino.

The corpse of the woman was discovered in room No.217 of Franasy (ហ្រ្វាណាសុី; possibly Fantasy) Hotel and Casino which is situated in Doong village, Boeung Reang commune, Kamrieng district, Battambang province in the morning of December 21 2016.

According to the district police:
The killer is still unidentified. He/she used a scarf/towel to strangle the victim.

The victim has been identified as 44YO (must be 43) Thai Manee Chaiyabutara.

The suspect, police say a Thai woman, fled the scene.

The (Khmer) police, in collaboration with the Thai authorities, are looking for the suspect.

Sihanoukville: Decomposed body of Canadian man found at Cozy Resort.

The body was found in room No.119.

The incident happened on December 19 2016 at 11.30AM at Cozy Resort which is situated in Group 12, Village 4, Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville (approx. 70m west of the 2 Lions roundabout and behind Shanghai karaoke).

According to the police:
The victim hasn’t been identified yet; they know that the man was Canadian and around 70YO.

The female owner of the resort is 26YO.

The victim checked in in the resort on October 29 2016.

The body is kept at the place of the incident awaiting the technical-scientific department of the police and medical experts to perform a biopsy.

Ratanakiri: 51YO Chinese Guo Guangbin dies after explosion on board of a dredger.

One worker died and another was injured after a component of a sand-dredging vessel unexpectedly exploded during a dredging operation in the Sesan River in Ratanakkiri’s Malik commune.

According to the police:

51-year-old Chinese national Guo Guangbin was killed and 60-year-old Vietnamese national Chreung Se was injured in the explosion that happened during a dredging operation.

Sihanoukville: Unidentified foreigner found dead on Victory beach, murder suspected.

An unidentified foreigner has been assaulted by some unknown person(s) and dumped on Kamsab Beach in front of the Provincial Hall of Preah Sihanouk which is located in Village 3, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville.
The victim’s body has been found in the morning of December 13 2016.

Police experts concluded that the victim has been fatally assaulted/attacked and dumped/abandoned. The victim definitely didn’t die a natural dead (the victim didn’t die due to a disease).

According to the local police:
A Yamaha Nouvo, license plate Take 1A-4858, has been found close the victim’s body.

Authorities said that the victim died from violence; the victim’s body showed scars at 3 different places.

The police (also) collected 3 pieces of wood (2 rectangular and one round) on the crime scene.

The police is till investigating the case.

The victim has been deposited at the morgue of the Provincial Referral Hospital.

Kandal: 66YO South-Korean Lee Kyu Song found dead in Mekong River, murder suspected.

On December 12 at 4PM the corpse of a Korean man was found floating in the Mekong River at Koh Kiev island which is located in Chroy Ampil village, sangkat Kbal Koh, khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.

According to the police:
The corpse was found by a Cham fisherman. On the victim’s body they found a handbag with an indication that the victim has the Korean nationality.
The Korean Embassy has been notified.
