An Indian national committed suicide in his rental house located in Group 5.
Battambang
On January 19 at 3.20PM in a rental house located in Group 5, Phum Baek Chas Thmey (បែកចានថ្មី), Sangkat Prey Praek Preah Steetch (ព្រែកព្រះស្តេច), Krong/Province Battambang there was a case of suicide by hanging.
The victim was identified as RRAI Na ANOOP, male, 51 years old, Indian national, living in the rental house where the incident occurred. It’s not clear why he committed suicide. The victim was already living 5 years in Cambodia. He was a seller of rice (លក់បាយ) (brand Dubai Coffee).
The victim has a 26 years old wife (according to the address not living with him).
According to his wife: when she arrived at the house of the victim she found her husband hanging. She called the neighbors to help but the victim already died.
The authorities concluded that the victim really died because of suicide by hanging. It wasn’t a murder.
Currently the body is kept at the Provincial Emergency Hospital awaiting instructions from the Indian embassy.

Dear Anonyms, thanks for your feedback. There were no more updates in the local media regarding this case. I’m still not convinced that the victim hanged himself but on the other hand it’s not the first Indian living in Cambodia who hanged himself in the past year. If I receive more news I’ll post in on the forum.
