The car (a Toyota Camry manufactured in 1995) of the victim, 28YO Khin Ni aka Ponlok, has been found on November 5 2016 at 12.30PM.
It was kept at (hidden?) at the house of a 53YO farmer identified as Nam Siem (ណាំ សៀម) living in Ondong Khmer village, sangkat Ondong Khmer, Kampot city/province.
After the police received the information that the car was spotted at above mentioned place they took a look and found out that the car was under repair. Both, the car and Nam Siem, who allegedly bought the car, were taken to the office.
Nam Siem told the police that his son, identified as Chan Thi aka Krov Hai, a car technician, received the car from a company identified as LOD (I guess a pawn-shop) to repair. Afterwards LOD clarified that they sold the car to Nam Siem for 2500USD on November 2 2016.
The police invited the 26YO branch chairman, identified as Saet Seyha (born and living in Kandal village, Koh Tooch commune, Tuk Chhou district, Kampot province), of the company LOD, which is located in Twi North village, sangkat Ondong Khmer, Kampot city.
He told the police that the company received the car on October 27 2016 from the victim as a collateral in excange for 1500USD.
On October 30 2016 the victim decided to the sell the car to LOD for a price of 2050USD. (I guess he received an additional 550USD)
On November 2 2016 LOD sold the car to Nam Siem for 2500USD.
The police abandoned the idea of murder-robbery but believes it was a case of premeditated murder.
The investigation is ongoing.

Big plot twist:

The police is claiming that the found corpse isn't 28YO Khin Li aka Ponlok since they detained/arrested him in the afternoon of November 12 2016 in Chong Thnol village, sangkat Tuk Thla, khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh after tracing his phone.
He was having an affair with a massage worker.

Khim Li confessed that he was aware that his family was looking for him and organized a funeral ceremony for 'him' but he was scared to return back home and hid for the police. He lost all his money and his car by gambling.
