According to
Chinese national arrested by the police in a case of counterfeit money worth more than 1000USD.
Siem Reap:
A Chinese national was arrested by the police after he bought an Iphone6 from a phone shop in Siem Reap and paid with fake USD.
He was arrested on January 12 2016 at 4.30PM in Phum Mondul 1, Sangkat Svay Dangkum, Krong Siem Reap. The police told in the morning of January 13 2016 that they arrested the suspect who bought the Iphone6 and paid with fake USD, in total 10100USD. 99 notes were counterfeit and 2 were real.
The suspect was identified as LIU CHANGJIAN, male, 46 years old, Chinese national, coming from Shandong province. He arrived in Siem Reap on January 9 2016 and planned to leave on January 13 2016. The suspect stayed at Angkor Paradise Villa Hotel (បារ៉ាឌីអង្គរវិឡា). The police confiscated 101 counterfeit USD notes, worth 10100USD, 3 Iphones, 1 Samsung and a number of other 1 items.
The suspect will be sent to the court.
