The incident happened earlier today in Samraong village, Longvek commune, Kampong Tralach district, Kampong Chnang province.
The younger brother of the female victim is the main suspect in this case; the police is searching for him.
The victims were identified as Haem Chhan, CFO (ប្រធានគណៈកម្មការហិរញ្ញវត្ថុ) of the Khmer Santepheap Journalist Association (សមាគមអ្នកកាសែតខ្មែរសន្តិភាព) and his wife.
The wife's younger brother allegedly used an axe to hack his sister and brother-in-law to death. First he killed the man, afterwards he killed the woman who unsuccessfully (the victims were living in a remote area) tried to look for help.
The motives of the killer are still unclear; he's a schizophrenic man and previously also chased and (tried to) hack them (possibly others).

A suspect was arrested on April 4 2017 in Kandal's Panha Lu district.
Police identified the suspect as Mon Somon/Samon.
