Oddar Meanchey: Woman's naked body found in field after being murdered.

The victim's (naked) body was found on March 15 2017 at 2.30PM in O'Chyk village, Ph'Av commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey.

At 4PM 2 the District Military Police in collaboration with the District Police and Provincial Police inspected the crime scene and victim's corpse.

They identified the victim as a 47-year-old farmer living in O'Chyk village, Ph'Av commune, Trapeang Prasat district, Oddar Meanchey.
She suffered injuries on the left and right shoulder, the left forearm and the forehead.

Experts concluded that she was possibly attacked with an axe/hatchet.

At 6.45 the victim's body was handed over to her family.

Police is investigating the case.

Note: Some sources say that the victim was raped; other sources don't mention the word rape.

Killed by her 34-year-old adopted son who's living in Kampong Speu's Borsed district; the man held a grudge against his adoptive father, the victim's husband, because he reprimanded the suspect.
(Previously) the adoptive father told the suspect that it's better to raise a dog than to raise him; a dog (at least) knows who's the boss and he (the adopted son) would bite him someday.

The police arrested the adopted son on March 16 2017; he confessed.

The victim had 12 wounds caused by an axe.

According to villagers: the reason that he killed his adoptive mother was the result of a combination of drugs, booze and (lack of) money.

The suspect owed the victim 1M KHR; in the evening of March 15 2017 the suspect, after returning from cutting wood somewhere on a mountain together with his adoptive father, drank several cases of beer and smoked drugs together with 4 to 5 others.
Around 8 to 9PM he went to the victim's house (knowing that her husband spent the night on the mountain and she was staying home alone); he asked for money which led to a quarrel. The victim fled but she was chased by the suspect who took an axe from the kitchen and hacked her to death.
Afterwards the suspect took a watering can. He cleaned his legs, arms and the axe which he later put back in the kitchen.
