The anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection department of the Provincial Police rounded up 5 sex workers luring customers at Pub Street and sent them for education because their actions undermined the dignity of the province.
The incident happend at 1AM on February 20 2016 at Pub Street located in Mondul 2 village, sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city/province.
According to the police:
At night these girls always lure national and international tourists which is affecting the public order and the traditional Khmer values.
The 5 sex workers were questioned at the Provincial Police station and received some education. Also some documents (to refrain from doing the thing again in the future) were signed.
After that they were sent to the Department of Social Education.
