In the afternoon of January 22 2017 and under the direct command of a deputy prosecutor at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court the 7 Makara district police raided apartment No.601 at .
Sokha Villa is situated along Street 165 in Veal Vong commune, 7 Makara district, Phnom Penh.
The police arrested one suspect identified as LAI HAN SIONG, a 35-year-old man with dual Khmer-Malaysian citizenship. (Khmer ID = Bun Keuy, 29-year-old)
The police found one small plastic bag containing drugs.
According to the police:
The suspect was known to the police as a big drug trafficker.
It is believed that the suspect flushed some drugs down the toilet or threw it in/at 'a dark place' when the police knocked on the door of his apartment.
Police experts are claiming that before the raid there were drugs and a weighing scale inside the apartment. (undercover police?)
The apartment was searched for several hours but no big amount of drugs was found; afterwards the suspect together with the evidence were taken to the police commissariat of 7 Makara district.
