Kandal: Man attacks his rival with a knife.

A man, holding grudge against a rival in a love story, pulled a knife and hacked 5 times in an attempt to kill. The victim was seriously injured.
The incident happend at 1.30PM on February 15 2016 at the house of Khoon Sok (ឃន សុខ) located in Kandal village, Santar commune (សណ្តារ), Leuk Daek District (លើកដែក), Kandal province.

Police identified the victim as Thi Buntan (ធី ប៊ុនថន), 23YO, farmer, currently living in the village/commune of the incident. He's married with Sok Chenda (សុខ ចិន្តា), female, 19YO.
The perpetrator who attacked his rival because he could't marry his wife, the woman he loved, was identified as Pong Poum (ប៉ុង ពុំ), male, 26YO, living in the same village/commune (as the victim). He fled the scene after the incident.

According to the police at 1.15PM on February 15 2016 was having lunch under his house together with 3 other people. Among them his wife.
Suddenly the suspect, holding a knife, appeared from behind and stabbed the victim 5 times (neck, both shoulders and both thighs) which resulted in serious injuries. Immediately after the incident the suspect fled. The suspect was sent to a hospital in Vietnam by his family.

The motive for the attack was grudge. Before the victim was married with his wife the family of the suspect asked her to marry with the suspect but the engagement was broken up again. Afterwards the wife of the victim married with the victim.
