Pailin: Thai businessman Somnuek Jaroonjirasathian went missing in Cambodia. Found killed.

Sources from Sa Kaeo province (Thailand) a Thai businessman went missing after he entered Cambodia through the international border checkpoint Chonburri- Pailin on February 13 2016. They don't know where he went. His name is Somnuek Jaroonjirasathian, 51YO, working for the company ​Phlamingco. (​ផ្លា​មិ​ង​កូ )​

His wife told the Thai police that her husband entered Cambodia on February 13 to work in a department of his company in a casino. After leaving the casino he went back to Thailand to find something to eat in a shop called Cheek Van (​ចេក​វ៉ា​ន់) but he didn't eat. Suddenly 2 unidentified women called him inside a (Toyota) Camry to go back to Cambodia.

On February 14 2016 his wife contacted (him) by telephone, instead (of him) a woman told (her) that her husband had no time to receive her call. Even more, there was also a man who told (the woman) to close the phone.

After this call his wife contacted/met the technical department of AIS who noticed that her husband, before losing contact, stayed in Poipet at a placed called Gateway parking​. Now his family as well as his wife are calling the authorities and the Cambodian police for help to find him.

Buried corpse of killed Thai casino boss discovered this morning in Pailin.

According to the Provincial Police of Pailin:
In the morning of February 22 2016 residents found a corpse buried in a forest on Cambodian-Thai border in Pailin province. The corpse can be the corpse of the Thai casino boss who went missing since February 13 2016.

According to the local reporter for Fresh News in Pailin province:
So far, authorities haven't concluded wether corpse can be linked to the Thai man who went missing or not because they didn't exhume the corpse yet. At this moment forensic experts are at work.

According to the police:
On February 13 2016 about 6.13PM the victim was at work in the Famigo Pailin casino (must be Flamingo) (ហ្វាមីហ្គោ ប៉ៃលិន) located in Psar Prum village (ផ្សារព្រំ), Stung Kat commune (ស្ទឹងកាច់), Sala Krau district (សាលាក្រៅ). An unidentified person called him to go eat (something) in the shop Cheek Van (could be Take One) (ចេកវ័ន្ធ) located in Psar Prum. He took a motodop to the place of meeting.
They (witnesses?) see a group meeting and eating and after eating leaving in a vehicle (Toyota) Corola; they can't remember the license plate.
On February 14 2016 the company of the missing person contacted the provincial commissioner who opened an investigation. On February 21 2016 residents spotted spaded land and a shovel. They also found a body.

The Thai business man who has shares/stakes in the Pailin Flamingo casino in Pailin province was beaten and shot dead. Afterwards he was buried in a reed forest on the west side of the mountain Phnom Kampoul Bey/Kompoul 3 (កំពូល​បី) at a distance of 6km from the international border crossing.
The body was found in the afternoon of February 21 2016. The police secured the place of the incident during 1 night.

In the morning of February 22 2016 the body was exhumed for a biopsy.

The victim was killed by (an) unidentified person(s); he had a broken face and 2 shot wounds.

The motive for the murder is not clear yet.

At the place of the incident the police found an opened but un-emptied Coca Cola can, 4 bottles of water, 1 pair of blue shorts and a shovel. The body was buried at a depth of more than 1 meter in a circular pit with a diameter of 75 centimeters. The killer(s) first put his head followed by his feet.

The killer(s) was/were clearly (a) professional(s), according to the police. The also shot/killed a dog and dumped its corpse at 100m from the place of the incident. Probably they killed the dog to create confusion. Because of the smell of the corpse of the dog you couldn't notice the smell of the corpse of the victim.

According to an employee of the casino:
Likely this is a story of rivalry in business and a money issue between the 2 Thai owners. Last month their was a serious argument between the victim and (another) Thai owners who also has shares.

On February 13 2016 the victim had a meeting with one younger and one older man, who could speak Khmer, in a restaurant close to the border. During that meeting the victim drank one can of juice. The 3 didn't eat. They left together in 1 vehicle (unknown brand) with a color similar to a watermelon and drove very slowly in the direction of the border checkpoint. Since then the victim went missing.
In the afternoon of February 21 there was a couple, man and wife, who went fishing and took some vegetables at the place of the incident which has a small river and pond. At that moment the wife found one shovel and there was also a smell and some fresh spaded land. The wife informed her husband who was fishing nearby.

They informed the village chief went to to place of the incident. Together they took that shovel and started digging. Suddenly they saw the foot/feet of a person. They informed the police who intervened.
