The incident happened in a condo located at the backside of Kirirom Karaoke in BKK2 commune, Chamkar Mon district.
Emergency crews were able to fully extinguish the fire in the afternoon of June 20 2017.
According to locals:
The fire was presumably caused by a discussing couple (the husband is a Chinese national) living in the condo who set themselves ablaze. Both suffered burns covering their entire body and has been sent to the hospital.

According to witnesses:
Before the incident they spotted the female victim riding in a tuk tuk after buying 10 1/2-liter bottles filled with petrol and before taking the bottles to her room on the 4th floor.
The female victim allegedly used illegal drugs and the owner of the room (I guess the male victim) tried to throw her out several times but she refused to go.
