Phnom Penh: Taiwanese man dies after falling and hitting head on a table in Best Star Karaoke.

On June 16 2017 at 11PM a drunk Taiwanese national died on his way to Calmette Hospital after falling and hitting his head on a table in a room on the 3rd floor of Best Star karaoke/KTV which is located along Street 598 in Group 25, Village 5, Boeung Kok 2 commune, Tuol Kok district, Phnom Penh.

Police received the news from the Chinese-Taiwanese Association in the morning of June 17 2017 at 7AM.

Police identified the victim as PENG YI KAI, a Taiwanese tourist born on February 15 1975 (42YO). The victim stayed at ESSENCE hotel which is located Boeung Reang commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh.

According to a 28-year-old female Khmer witness working at the karaoke as a 'room-supervisor':
On June 16 2017 around 8PM 6 Taiwanese men and 1 Vietnamese woman entered the room on the 3rd floor to eat/drink and sing. They ordered 9 female hostesses and consumed 2 cases of Angkor beer (bottles).

They were drunk and singing. Around 11PM the victim went to the toilet (I'll spare you the details) and returned 20min later. He took a seat on the sofa, hit the table with his chin (!), fainted (and) collapsed on the floor tiles.

The employees of the karaoke repositioned him until he regained consciousness. They settled the bill and put him in a tuk tuk towards Calmette Hospital.
Doctors at Calmette pronounced the victim dead on arrival.

A post-mortem examination ruled out that the victim died of heart attack, possibly caused by a heart disease.

The victim's body was sent to the morgue of Wat Steung Meanchey pagoda.
