Phnom Penh: Older Khmer-Australian man dies on his way to a hospital.

On June 13 2017 around 11AM an older Khmer-Australian tourist, visiting his wife in Cambodia for 3 months already, suffering from an illness, died on his way to the hospital on board of a motorbike.
The incident happened along Street 2011, in front of Phsar Chhouk Meas, in Krang Angkrang Village, Krang Thnong commune, Saen Sokh district, Phnom Penh.
Afterwards his body was taken to the morgue of Wat Chompouvan pagoda in Por Sen Chey's Chaom Chao commune without any (official) documents from a doctor or the police so the police was informed to investigate the man's death.

The victim has been identified as Nhanh Sovoeun, a 55-year-old Khmer-Australian man, who entered Cambodia on April 12 2017 to visit the country (as a tourist) and to visit his wife.

The victim's family told that he was born in Battambang province and left the country for Australia in 1983.
After divorcing his first wife in Australia he remarried with Srey Kalyan, a 46-year-old woman living in Prey Chisok village, Chaom Chao commune, Por Sen Chey district, Phnom Penh, in 2012.

When visiting his wife in Cambodia the victim stayed at his wife's house in Prey Chisok village; he used to suffer stomachache and abdominal pains and frequently visited a doctor in Sen Sok district.

Also in the morning of June 13 2017 the victim suffered abdominal pains which continuously increased. When unbearable he asked his wife to instruct her younger brother to bring him on board of a motorbike to the doctor/hospital, near Wat Somraong Andaet in Sen Sok, who/which he used to visit when seeking treatment.
But in front of Phsar Chhouk Meas he lost consciousness and died.
Afterwards his body was taken to the morgue of Wat Chompouvan pagoda in Por Sen Chey's Chaom Chao commune.

A layman at the pagoda told that the victim's family had no official document from a doctor or the police so he instructed the family to inform the police to investigate and perform a post-mortem examination.
