Prince Ranariddh's convoy, after meeting his supporters in Kampot province, was involved in a traffic accident on NR31 in Prey Ta Pruk village, Sdach Kong Khang Lich commune, Banteay Meas district, Kampot province.
The accident happened on May 16 2017 at 5PM and was caused by a 27-year-old man, driving a truck loaded with land.
The Lexus LX470 (Phnom Penh 2J-9055) belonging to Chheng Chamroeun, Funcinpec's vice-president, ended in a rice paddy.
Nobody has been injured in the accident.
The man who reportedly caused the accident tried to escape with his truck but was chased and intercepted by the convoy and handed over to the police.
On April 25 2015 the Prince's convoy was also involved in a traffic accident caused by a truck loaded with land. The accident happened in Kampong Cham's Prey Chhor district. In that accident the Prince's wife, Ouk Phalla, and 5 bodyguards were seriously injured.
