In the morning of November 3 2016 the Judicial Police of the ACU sent 2 suspects to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
One of them was identified as Kong Makara (គង់ មករា), Chairman of the Department of Mines and Energy at Preah Vihear province.
The other suspect is still unidentified.

The second man has been identified as Nguon Pholli (ងួន ផល្លី ).
According to the latest updates both were charged under Art.601 (intentional destruction and dishonest embezzlement) of the Penal Code and Art.32 (Corruption offenses stipulated in the Criminal Code) of the Anti-Corruption law.

On the morning of July 4 2017 the director of Preah Vihear’s provincial department of mines and energy (Kong Makara) and a subordinate (Nuon Phally) were sentenced to 2 years in jail each under Art.597 and 598 of the penal code (unlawful exploitation).
Both of them had the remainder of their sentence suspended and were released.
