Phnom Penh:
The General Department of Customs and Excise announced that all owners with a RHD vehicle must pay their taxes and register their vehicles without having to modify the steering wheel in order to receive a license plate and legally use the vehicle.
They also remind all owners of a RHD vehicle who didn't pay import taxes yet to register their vehicles asap in the Provincial Customs and Excise Branches belonging to the Customs and Excise Office in Phnom Penh between January 18 2016 and February 18 2016.
The press release says that from February 18 2016 onwards all non-registered vehicles will be considered as prohibited goods and in violation with the obligation of paying tax on imported goods.
Those who will fail to fulfill their tax obligations within 6 months starting from February 18 2016 will be cracked down.
Owners of a RHD vehicle must pay taxes and register their vehicle.
